Top Tight Ends in the Class of 2021


Jake Briningstool, a Clemson recruit from Ravenwood, Tennessee, is considered the nation’s No. 1 tight end. according to 247Sports.com composite rankings. Briningstool is facing a junior season in which he caught 47 balls for 857 yards with nine touchdowns. In his sophomore year, he caught 22 balls.

Thomas Fidone from Lewis Central High School in Iowa is the second best recruit. Fidone has narrowed his collegiate picks down to six teams — Iowa, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Penn State.

No. 3 recruit Brock Bowers from Napa High in California has a list of eight finalists – Cal, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, Penn State, UCLA and Washington.

Moliki Matavao, the nation’s No. 4 tight end, has given Oregon his verbal. He averaged over 15 yards per catch last year with 46 catches while leading Liberty to a Nevada 4A title. Seven of his catches were for touchdowns.

At number 5 is Michael Trigg from Carrollwood Day in Florida. Trigg recently narrowed his list down to ten teams — Auburn, Illinois, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina and USC.
