Watch: St. Edward, Ohio seals defeat Cherry Creek, Colorado with acrobatic trapping

For the second straight week, one of Ohio’s best teams defeated an out-of-state opponent, and the latest victory was sealed with an acrobatic interception of a tilted pass.

With St Edward until 13-9 on Cherry Creek (Colorado) late in the game, the Eagles needed a final stop in fourth place to take possession and tick off the clock.

Cherry Creek’s final attempt at a pass was tipped in the air, and Senior Cam Drewery prepared to intercept.

Upon returning to Colorado, the Bruins (1-1) will attempt to recover from their first loss of the season. They will also be reunited with senior offensive lineman Bryson Snead, who was reportedly left behind at Denver International Airport earlier in the week when security found a knife he accidentally left in his pocket.

Snead’s mother said Denver7 News Cherry Creek administration boarded the plane to Ohio and left him alone at the airport after the knife was discovered.

While understanding her decision to punish him for finding a gun, she expressed frustration and disappointment at her teenage son being left alone to navigate the airport and find a way home. Cherry Creek will see Chatfield (0-2) next week.

St. Edward, who entered the week at number 23 SBL Live/Sports Illustrated Power 25will take on Elder (3-0) in a battle of the mighty powers of Ohio.
