Richard Young, 5-star running back from Florida, commits to Alabama Crimson Tide over Oregon, Georgia

LEHIGH ACRES, FLORIDA – It came down to three schools for LeHigh Acres Running back Richard Young and made his pick just before the start of the weekend.

The nation’s No. 1 runner tweeted that he prefers the University of Alabama to Oregon and Georgia. Young had recently narrowed himself down to just three schools before making a decision ahead of his senior season.

Young becomes the 16th commitment to the Crimson Tide in the Class of 2023 and joins Buford High School (GA) Running Back Justice Haynes. Now that his college decision is made, Young will go into August 1st practice Monday with his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Young had a terrific junior season with the Lightning himself, rushing for 1,755 yards for 196 carries (9.0 yards per carry) and 19 touchdowns. In his second season at LeHigh, Young rushed for 982 yards and scored eight touchdowns.
