High School Football America 100 points for week 7
There are eight head-to-head matches in High School Football America 100, powered by play NFL football. There are also 14 games where teams within the HSFA 300 compete against each other.
A top 100 fight was canceled due to Hurricane Ian, which devastated much of Florida. The game between No. 14 IMG Academy and No. 53 Jones (Orlando) was canceled well before Ian landed on the state’s west coast.
Follow how the top 100 perform throughout the weekend below.
Thursday
In Texas, No. 9 North Shore defeated No. 216 CE King 38-3, giving the Mustangs an 18-game winning streak. The reigning champions of 6A Division I lost second quarterback Kaleb Bailey 3-0 early in the game.
Wide receiver David Amador, a UTSA recruit, moved under center to lead the Mustangs to victory. Amador had TD runs for 17, 38, and 75 yards.
Wednesday
No. 36 Colquitt County (Georgia) improved to 6-0 with a 30-7 win over No. 245 Lincoln High of Tallahassee, Fla. Because of Hurricane Ian, both teams played only five days off. Georgia State recruit Charlie Pace ran for two touchdowns.
Monday
With Hurricane Ian approaching, No. 46 Lakeland and Lake Gibson decided to play Monday. The decision to play was made easier as both teams had byes last week.
After about a 90-minute rain delay at the start, the Dreadnaughts drove to a 47-14 win.

Where High School Football America 100 is playing this weekend
Hurricane Ian canceled a high school football America 100 powered by head-to-head match play NFL football, and affected many other games. In South Florida, school officials moved the matchup between American Heritage (Plantation) No. 12 and Cardinal Gibbons to Saturday noon.
Ohio will have two major intra-top 100 games this weekend.
In the Cleveland area on Saturday, the Holy War will be played between No. 40 St. Edward and No. 100 St. Ignatius. The two have been facing each other since 1952.
In the southern part of the country, #11 Archbishop Möller will take over #91 Elder. A Moeller win at the University of Cincinnati’s Nippert Stadium will earn the Crusaders the Greater Catholic League South title.
In New Jersey, No. 50 Don Bosco takes on No. 64 St. Peter’s Prep. Bosco clinched their surprisingly easy 31-7 win over No. 5 Bergen Catholic last Saturday.
Utah’s 6A Region 4 is one of the best in the country. This week, No. 83 Skyridge will attempt to rebound from his loss last week to Corner Canyon, who now sit at the top of the region with a 2-0 record. Skyridge faces No. 92 Lone Peak. Both schools hold 1-1 regional records.
No. 57 Thompson will be looking to keep up his drive for another Alabama 7A Region 3 title when he takes on No. 78 Hewitt-Trussville. The Warriors sit at the top of the region with No. 68 Hoover. Both teams have 3-0 records.
There are two interstate top 100 fights.
In Hawaii, No. 4 St. Frances Academy (Maryland) departs from the mainland to play No. 82 Kahuku, Hawaii’s reigning open division champion.
In the nation’s capital on Saturday, No. 15 St. John’s College High School will play defending Georgia 3A champion Cedar Grove, who is ranked No. 75 on the HSFA 100 this week.

Southeast aims to regain its past glory this fall
BRADENTON, FL – Despite missing playoffs in 2021, the Southeast Seminoles The football team finished the campaign on a four-game winning streak to end the season.
Most teams across the region could afford the luxury of attending some sort of spring game or jamboree, but Southeast missed their contest against Sebring due to inclement weather. The Seminoles could still have a productive spring and carried that over to the summer workouts and 7v7s.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t play our game Sebring (in the spring),” said Southeast head coach Brett Timmons. “However, the work that was done carried over into the summer by watching many guys improve physically and mentally.”
The Timmons roster for 2022 will be slightly more youthful mixed in with some seniors as the Seminoles return plenty of experience on both sides of the ball. Though Seminoles graduated quarterback Darvin Searls and running back Chris Thomas, Southeast will have suitable substitutes on offense.
Southeast brings back senior wide receiver/defensive back Cameron Perkins, wide receiver Tony Edwards, linebacker Mykell Gipson and offensive tackle Jaycee Lasinski. Junior Marquis Carter and Noah Obaskei are fighting for quarterback.
“We’re a young and hungry team,” said Timmons. “On paper there aren’t many gaps to fill compared to previous teams. This group of young men is the only focus.”
Bringing back the success that the Southeast Seminoles football team enjoyed in the 1980’s and 1990’s is something Timmons has been working toward with the program. The Seminoles last won more than 10 games in the 2010 season when they reached the Class 3A Region Finals.
With legendary players like wide receiver Peter Warrick and quarterback Adrian McPherson coming through the program, the rich history of the Seminoles cannot be ignored when considering where Southeast hopes to return. The Seminoles are starting the new suburban state series they will play in on August 26 when they host Coconut Creek.
“Our goal is to maintain the standard and tradition of Southeast High School’s football program that was prevalent in the 1980’s and 1990’s,” added Timmons. “It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out (in the Metro Suburban State series, which begins this fall).”

PHOTO GALLERY: Cherry Creek @ Ralston Valley Ice Hockey
KUSA — On Tuesday, January 27th, the Cherry Creek Bruins traveled to Apex Ice Arena, home of Ralston Valley. The Bruins took on the talented Mustangs hockey team. The Bruins went into the game unbeaten as Ralston Valley struggled to recover from its only loss in 38 games to Mountain Vista the previous week.
An even game between two top Colorado high school hockey teams at the start became increasingly polarized towards the Mustangs as the game progressed. A tie at the end of the first game turned into a victory for the Mustangs by three goals.
The Ralston Valley Mustangs defeated the Cherry Creek Bruins 4-1 in the final. Both teams now have a single loss on their tally.
Here are some photos from the action.
