The Mercury Diner, the latest concept from restaurant group A&R Creative, will be officially opened on Thursday 17th November. The cosmic retro diner replaces A&R’s Crest Gastropub at 621 Parsons Ave. at Schumacher Place. ave You can Check out the Mercury Diner menu here, which includes the Big Bang (biscuits and gravy), an English muffin sandwich with egg and cheese, patty melt, grilled cheese with garlic bread, and Brioso coffee. The diner also offers beer, wine, cocktails and shakes, which you can prepare alcoholic, as well as breakfast and lunch Thursday through Monday.
Pablo’s Havana Cafe opened earlier than expected at North Market Bridge Park (6750 Longshore St.). The Cuban restaurant offers El Cubano sandwiches, beef empanadas, tostones and more.
bird of law introduced a new menu this week, the first major update since Flavor Maker PJ Ford joined the team. We’re intrigued by the Stroop, there it is! with Biscoff-infused bourbon and the GOAT with spiced goat’s milk and gin. Try this new menu on Law Birds Instagram.
Today COhatch and his partner North High Brew gave us a virtual preview of their new Westerville location, a renovation of the historic Armory building. North High’s latest collaboration with the Columbus-based coworking company will include a restaurant and brewpub, multiple patio areas, an al fresco bar and a music stage. Land-Grant Brewing Co. Winter Garden returns to 424 W. Town St. in Franklinton this season. Secure your place for the brewery curling and/or a cozy igloo now landgrantbrewing.com/wintergarten. Curling matches last 90 minutes and take place on the brewery’s 1,200 square meter ice rink in the beer garden.
The Juntothe new boutique hotel under construction in Franklinton, has hired a general manager and released more details about its half-dozen food and beverage outlets. The hotel is scheduled to open next spring. The hotel’s operator, Makeready, announced this week that Jason Delcamp is the hotel’s new general manager. He joins Columbus from Halcyon, a makeready hotel in Cherry Creek, Colorado. Here is an overview of the hotel’s restaurants and nightlife:
- Little West Tavern is a neighborhood restaurant and bar with wood-fired kitchen.
- the hotel cafe, Maudines, is named for Maudine Ormsby, the Holstein cow named Homecoming Queen of Ohio State University in 1926. (It’s true.)
- The highlight of the hotel will be the rooftop bar Brass eyenamed after a term for drunkenness – “has a brass eye” – said to have been coined by Benjamin Franklin.
- The trading room is a meeting place in the lobby for a quick breakfast or a place to have a drink in the evening.
- The back terrace is an outdoor space adjacent to The Trade Room with an open fireplace.
- Most intriguing is perhaps Little West Poutinea walk-in window with poutine.
